Venezuelan Opposition Leader Lopez In Chile Embassy After Failed Coup

Leopoldo Lopez broke his house arrest Tuesday morning as part of the attempted coup by his ally Juan Guaido.

Leopoldo Lopez requested protection this Tuesday afternoon as a guest at the Chilean embassy in Caracas, Chilean Foreign Minister Roberto Ampuero confirmed through his Twitter account.

“Lilian Tintori and her daughter entered as guests to the residence of our diplomatic mission in Caracas. A few minutes ago his spouse, Leopoldo López, who stayed with his family in that place, joined him.

Chile reaffirms commitment to Venezuelan Democrats,”  Ampuero said in a tweet.
