NEW YORK: Man runs over ex-wife with car, then hacks her to death

(NYDAILYNEWS) – A scorned man ran over his ex-wife with her car then brutally hacked her to death with a machete outside the victim’s Bronx home Thursday, police said.

The heartless ex-hubby showed up outside the 58-year-old woman’s home on Ellsworth Ave. near Schley Ave. in Throgs Neck about 7 a.m.

As the victim — identified by sources as Noelia Mateo — was getting into her car, her ex-spouse slammed his vehicle into hers then crashed into a parked car, sending Mateo flying, witnesses told police.

“I saw the guy murdering the lady — trying to murder the lady,” neighbor Victor DiChristina, 78, said.

The ex-husband dragged the woman under her car, then got into her vehicle and backed it over her, police said.

“There was a person underneath the car, and there’s a person behind that person trying to pull her out by the legs,” DiChristina recalled. “He backed over her completely and then … he ran over her legs and whatnot.”

When the woman rolled out from under the car onto the sidewalk in a desperate bid to save her life, her ex-husband hacked her repeatedly with a machete.

“Next thing I see, the sucker’s there chopping away at her with a machete — and I mean a machete,” DiChristina said. “I’m yelling and screaming trying to stop him.”

The elderly neighbor called 911 as other residents gathered around the gruesome scene.

“I heard a bang, I came outside and I heard people screaming across the street,” neighbor Richard Weinheim said. “I saw the body laying on the floor covered in blood.”

His wife yelled for someone to get a blanket to cover the dying woman, Weinheim said.

“I feel bad for this poor woman. You don’t take someones life like that,” he said.

Medics rushed the victim to Jacobi Medical Center where she died.
