A memorial service will be held Thursday in Minneapolis for George Floyd.
The service will be held at North Central University in Minneapolis, specifically in the Frank J. Lindquist Sanctuary, starting at 1 p.m.
Rev. Al Sharpton is set to deliver a eulogy at the service, with family expected to attend. Attorney Benjamin Crump, who is representing Floyd’s family, will also be in attendance.
Meanwhile, a memorial service is also expected to be held Saturday afternoon in North Carolina, where Floyd was born.
Floyd’s funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. June 9 in Houston. A public viewing will be held the Monday after the funeral.
According to the Associated Press, former boxing champion Floyd Mayweather has offered to pay for Floyd’s funeral and memorial services, and the family has accepted the offer.
Additional details are expected to be released this week.
