An 11-year old Canadian girl was discovered and the father was detained.
The body was discovered in a basement apartment in Brampton, the father of the girl has been arrested.
Police claim that the mother of the young girl had received threatening messages from the father in which he implied that he planned on harming himself and their daughter.
According to CBC, Roopesh Rajkumar, 41, was detained by officers after his daughter’s body was uncovered in an apartment located in the Brampton area around 30 km northwest of Toronto.
Rajkumar was apprehended by the OPP near Orillia after a person responding to the alert called in to report seeing a silver Honda Civic, which had been detailed in the notice.
The mother of the girl reached out to police to notify them that the girl’s father had failed to drop her off at the agreed upon time around 6:30 PM Thursday evening. Police launched an investigation shortly thereafter.
The father did not have full custody of his daughter, but she had been dropped off at a Mississauga gas station in the afternoon so that he could take her out for her birthday.
Police are refusing to say at the moment how the Brampton apartment, where the girl’s body was discovered, is linked to Rajkumar.
