A weak tropical wave is crossing our islands with bands of moisture in shallow low level cloud patches. Occasionally cloudy skies and some scattered showers can be expected this afternoon.
Special feature: There is a medium chance (60%) for tropical cyclone formation within the next 5 days in the Atlantic Ocean where a large and complex area of disturbed weather is associated with a broad trough of low pressure as well as a tropical wave.
Associated shower and thunderstorm activity has increased since last night. These systems are forecast to merge and current projections suggest a track to the northeast of the island chain by Friday.
Our Meteorological Services will continue to monitor any development and advise accordingly.
