The Mirpuri Foundation will be sponsoring a transatlantic crossing organized by its founder, Paulo Mirpuri, which will leave Mindelo, Cape Verde January 29th, and is expected to arrive at Barbados 7 days later.
The foundation has selected for this expedition a 21 meters Volvo Ocean Race high-performance sailing vessel, capable of exceeding 25 knots speed, four times faster than a typical sailing cruiser.
The boat, named ” Mirpuri Foundation”, is being prepared for the crossing at a yard near Alicante, home for the Volvo Ocean Race organization, and will position to Cape Verde in early January.
The event will be covered on a daily basis by sailing specialist journalist Nysse Arruda.
Onboard “Mirpuri Foundation” and under Paulo Mirpuri command there will be a total of 8 crew members experienced in offshore racing plus 6 VIP guests which will fully participate in the handling and sailing of the boat.
The main goal is to raise awareness towards the Mirpuri Foundation’s activities and intervention domains.
