Youths Charged With Stealing Bikes From Georgetown Police Station

This country’s Senior Prosecutor at the Magistrate’s Court is of the view that when persons penetrate the security of the Police services here it is very perplexing and has raised cause for concern.

Delpesche made this point when 17 years old Shemore James of Georgetown and 16 year old Kevin Stapleton also of Georgetown and a student of Bishop College Kingstown appeared before Senior Magistrate Rickie Burnett at the Kingstown Magistrate Court charged for entering the Georgetown Police Station on the morning of Monday October 22nd, 2018 and stole two small motor bikes along with one peddle bicycle valued at approximately $3,000.00. 

In response the Senior Magistrate described such action as very embarrassing to the local constabulary.

 He also went on to question the where about of the Police Officers who were on duty at the Station at the time. 

He requested of the Prosecutor to inform the relevant Police Authority about the matter to have some sort of investigation.

Entry to the exhibit room of the Police Station was gained via a window that was open while the station orderly was in the station orderly was in the station office.

Both defendants entered guilty pleas were remanded into custody until Monday October 29th, 2018 when they would know their fate.

  1. Indeed it shows the police force is very incompetent and had a calous regard for the profession. The youths should be set free, given the their act points to a gaping hole in profession.
