The 2018 netball season kicked into high gear on the 23rd of February, the weekend saw the visiting male national netball team out of Grenada playing against the Vincentian men’s netball team.
The games were reenergized by two former national players who have been working behind the scenes to get the male team back in form.
One of the objectives is to traverse SVG with an aim of bringing back the sport of netball while helping various community groups to reestablish netball teams or clubs.
To achieve such the national male team will be working in close collaboration with the SVG netball association.
Two matches have been played in different communities including Barrouallie and Georgetown, with the final match to be played at the opening of the 2018 national netball tournament on Sunday, March 4th.
There would be a return match later this year in Grenada.
The SVG men’s team has been around for some ten years and has travelled to Trinidad and Antigua, along with playing exhibition matches in SVG.
The visit of the Grenadian national team has been endorsed by the SVG Netball Association.
