Vincentian footballer and Arizona State junior wide receiver N’Keal Harry has been one the most explosive playmakers in the USA this season.
What lights a fire under the Sun Devil is his competitive edge, determination toward winning and motivation which comes from his grandmother.
Harry told PAC -12 that;
“the competitive spirit is just within me, my whole life I never like losing, but my grandmother is the driving force behind me, when she brought me from the St Vincent at the age of 4, she had to start all over again, seeing her do that just give me that edge to perform above and beyond”.
According to the East Valley Tribune Harry caught the attention of Oregon, Texas A&M, USC, Arizona and Arizona State on the football field.
That is largely because he has paid attention to his grandmother.
“When you leave the house, you are not just representing yourself, you are representing me, the family, and the whole country,” Felna Harry advises her grandson.
“Everything that she sacrificed for me, she is the reason why I do all this,” Harry said.
Chad Carpenter says he has been coaching for 10 years, and N’Keal is one of the most talented guys I have ever got the chance to work with”.
“I tell people I know, he is the kind of guy that comes around every once and awhile.”
Harry has become a gifted leader but acknowledges he hasn’t done it on his own.
“It’s a great thing having these guys on my team. They always lift me up when I am down. We have talented players that don’t get enough credit that need to be credited,” Harry said.
