Vincentian Athlete Runs Second Fastest Time in Monroe College History

Kasique Oliver,  Son of Perma Pemberton a native of St. Vincent and the Grenadine’s,  ran the fastest time in Monroe Junior College this year for the 600-meter distance.

His time of 1:19.40 was also the second-fastest time in school history.

Oliver’s mark was just .19 off the school record set by Jaymes Dennison last season. Oliver also posted a new personal best in the 800 with a mark of 1:54.40.

In 2016 he earned a 5th place finish at the 1000 meter run at the Towson Invite (1/14)…Ran to a 9th place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.46 at the Gotham Cup (1/20).

Before Monroe Oliver Competed on the track and cross country teams for five years at St. Martin’s Secondary School, he also Set the school mark in the 400 and 800 and holds the interschool record.

Kasique Oliver was named an Athletic Champion from 2010-13 and earned the 2012 Math Award.

Monroe’s Men’s Track & Field team will compete in the NJCAA national championship in Pittsburg, Kansas, which begins Friday, March 3.  ( and News784)
