The Richland Park Health Centre Staff consisting of Staff Nurse Jameil Bartholomew, Nursing Assistant Janieh Bobb, and Community Health Aide did their noteworthy annual intervention by distributing 23 food baskets to some of the underprivileged and marginalised in the community.
The distribution took place in the area, from Hope well Village to Kellipar, a community located close to Montreal Gardens.
Staff Nurse Bartholomew who is currently nursing an injury sustained a week ago from an accident facilitated the process from her sick bed with the help of her support Staff and the members of the Diabetic-Hypertensive Club.
The food baskets became a reality after donations from prominent persons around the community, businesses, and members of the Club itself.
The recipients were delighted. Indeed, some comments expressed were – ” I am so thankful”, “God bless us”, “I am so happy “, they were overwhelmed with joy and jubilation.
The president of the Club Mr. Munroe Hector who is also a Pastor and Staff Nurse Jameil Bartholomew played an active part in making this venture a success.
Mentioned must be made of Nursing Assistant Janieh Bobb and Community Health Aide Kathie Castello who also worked tirelessly and beyond the call of duty and who were so keen and enthusiastic about the event.
The food baskets which consists of nourishments and toiletries were being put together for the last three weeks, last year, 25 food baskets were distributed.
The Club which boasts of 52 members will hold their next event, a Fun Day, on Wednesday 6th September 2017, where they will journey to Black Point located on the Windward side of the Island.
