PLAYFUL Prince Harry caused a stir today as he publicly professed his love for a woman – and it was not his glamorous girlfriend Meghan Markle.
The sprightly royal made the mischievous remark during an unscheduled visit to a hillside village on the island of St Vincent, which he was visiting as part of his tour of the Caribbean.
Harry stopped to chat with locals in the tiny settlement of Vermont, where he was mobbed by enthusiastic locals eager to meet him.
Amongst the crowd was amorous farmer Avis Collis, who enjoyed a light-hearted exchange with the Prince after telling him “I love you”.
Harry then stopped to chat to the 54-year-old, who is single, and pointed at her hand before replying “I love you” back.
Delighted Avis grinned with delight at the comment, and later cheekily approached a reporter from a British newspaper and asked them to pass the prince her number.
She told the Mirror: “Here’s my phone number, can you give it to the Prince?
“He told me he loved me I can’t believe it.
“I may be 54 but I’m single and I’m available!”
The good-natured exchange came after Harry was put on the spot over his romance with US television star Ms Markle, 32, when Antiguan Prime Minister Gaston Browne said the couple should honeymoon on his island.
