Over 4000 Visitors as Britannia make’s first visit to SVG

After 3 days of heavy precipitation that virtually brought Kingstown to its knees, the arrival of Britannia cruise ship has brought much needed life back into the capital.

The Britannia cruise ship, with some 4,000 passengers, docked earlier this morning in port Kingstown.

Minister of Tourism, Cecil McKie in his address to mark Tourism Month 2016, said how we respond to this wonderful opportunity will, to a large extent, shine a light on whether we are moving forward together with the maturity to capitalize on this competitive market.

The ship made its voyage here when Tourism Month is being celebrated from November 1–30 under the slogan ‘Tourism is Everyone’s Business, Live it, Love it, Embrace it’.

Combining the excitement of cruising with the sophistication of a five-star hotel, Britannia isn’t just the biggest ship ever built exclusively for the British market – she’s the most glamorous too. Your first moments on board are sure to be truly memorable as the spectacular ‘starburst’ centerpiece of her atrium comes into view.

Port Kingstown is expected to receive 12 more cruise ships calls for the 2016 period.
