In a last ditch effort to get payments outstanding, workers, at the Ottley Hall Shipyard, have apparently blocked management from leaving the compound.
The workers are demanding that they be given their 5 weeks outstanding payments as they have families to take care of and bills that are due.
Tempers flared as workers clashed with management and demanded to know where monies that the company is receiving goes.
Speaking to the Searchlight Newspaper an official of the company said that they are working towards paying workers outstanding monies, while the shipyard has over 800,000 dollars in receivables outstanding.
The official also stated that the economic situation in Venezuela has not allowed them the necessary cash flow into the company.
One of the Venezuelan workers who apparently attempted to leave sustained a blow in the knee area with a piece of pipe from a local worker.
