Vincentian footballer and Arizona State star wide receiver N’Keal Harry has been named to the 2016 “Scout Freshman All-America team”.
Harry, a big-time playmaker who finished with 58 catches and 659 yards this year, would be among college football rookies who made the biggest contributions in 2016.
Speaking to News784, N’Keal mother Naudine Harry said: “this is really a proud moment for the family, we are very proud of his accomplishment, words cannot describe, and we are really rooting for him”.
Naudine said, “there is never enough time to speak with him, however, he told me his selection came as a surprise”, “ my son stays true to form ever humble”, she told News784.
Harry had a huge season as a freshman in Tempe.
He was just the ninth true-freshman to start a season opener for Arizona State and his 58 receptions were the most by a freshman receiver in the entire country.
In a statement, Coach Todd Graham said of Harry’s performance:
“He’s been phenomenal,” “he’s made progress in his blocking, he’s made progress in his route running, he’s still learning a lot.
He’s a guy that has a lot more tools that we can use. You can’t ask anymore as far as his development. He’s really developed and done really well.”
Harry was also named to the Campus Insiders and Pro Football Focus’ Freshman All-America teams. N’Keal would be the first Vincentian selected to play on the ” True Freshman All-American Team ”.
