Government examining options on Marshall’s diplomatic position

The Searchlight Newspaper has reported that the SVG Government was up to Saturday gathering statements and examining options, concerning UN Diplomat Sehon Marshall.

The New York Daily News and the New York Post reported on Friday that Sehon Marshall, 43, counsellor to the Permanent Mission of SVG to the United Nations allegedly boxed his wife Xandra, 36, after an argument broke out at their home in the Canarsie area of Brooklyn at 1:15 am Friday.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves told SEARCHLIGHT on Saturday that the Government is aware of the reports and is “gathering all the relevant statements.”

“The Government will always act appropriately,” he said, in a telephone interview, adding that the Government of SVG “holds a strong position against domestic violence as is reflected in its legislative efforts.”

Xandra Marshall is a diplomat, having been appointed to her husband’s former post of Deputy Consul General at the New York Consulate only a few weeks ago.

  1. Make me a Proud Vincy.Get Rid of him immediately. This behavior whould not be tolerated.Vincentians Unite .Get him out NOW.

  2. It aint about Options , the only thing to do is to fire Mr. Marshall , if the Government fails to do that People can & will conclude that Marshall also has Diplomatic Immunity from being Fired . The Government must do the Right Thing
    and Fire Marshall immediately .

If the Government fails to do this , then I will conclude that the Government is Hell bent on committing Political
    Suicide .

    • The onus is on the Government of St. Vincent & the Grenadines
to tangibly demonstrate that Mr. Marshall is not immune from
getting Fired . He has disgraced not only himself but also
the Government & People of St. Vincent & the Grenadines .
