Government: 40 youths to be trained in computer networking and cell phone repair

The government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is providing 40 youths with training in computer networking and cell phone repair.

This training which costs approximately $400,000, forms part of the government’s targeted approach to provide education and training to persons here in an effort to transform them into self-sufficient and self-sustaining citizens.

Minister responsible for Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Camillio Gonsalves speaking at a ceremony yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Conference Room said that following the training, the youths will be placed on attachment with local companies.

Minister Gonsalves said that during the six months on attachment, the Zero Hunger Thrust Fund will provide these 40 youths with a stipend.
