Eye Witness Say Bequia Resident Beaten By Police For No Justified Reason

A source has told News784 that Bequia resident Shamroy Stowe was beaten by the police for no justified reason today.

The incident according to the source took place around midday in the community of Friendship.

The source claimed at the time of the beating all Stowe was engaged in was the smoking of marijuana.

The source also claims that this is not the first time Stowe has been abused by the police, prior to this incident; he was manhandled about two months ago according to the information given.

Stowe arrives at the MCMH

Stowe had to be sent to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital this afternoon due to his condition.

News784 was also told that no police accompanied Stowe to the mainland.

Photos sent to NEWS784 did not show Stowe receiving any beating from the police, but what seemed to be the police helping Stowe, who from the photo appeared to be falling.

No information could be obtained from law enforcement since the police Public Relations department don’t carry out administrative duties on the weekend.
