Earthquake Strikes Near St Vincent, Grenada And Tobago

An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred around 11.55 am on Tuesday.

The University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI, SRC) confirmed that the epicentre of the quake took place at a depth of 10 km, at latitude 11.98N and longitude 60.84W.

It occurred 89 km north of Scarborough, Trinidad and Tobago, 101 km east of St George’s, Grenada and 138 km south-southeast of Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Not many reported feeling the quake, based on comments on the UWI, SRC’s Facebook post.

There were two earthquakes earlier this month, each of magnitude 4.9 which struck on May 4 and May 9.
