E.T Joshua Terminal To Be Converted Into SVG’s First Modern Retail Plaza

St Vincent and the Grenadines will have its first Modern Plaza by mid-2020, this was announced by Minister of Finance Camilo Gonsalves while delivering the 2020 Budget.

“This year, National Properties plans to convert the vacant passenger terminal building at the former ET Joshua Airport to a modern retail and entertainment plaza”.

He says National Properties has been overwhelmed by the number of expressions of interest from local business entities.

The facility will be anchored by existing Kingstown-based companies and will open in the second half of 2020, Gonsalves said.

Last October, the Government continued to showcase the diversity and depth of the Vincentian private sector with the Agri Expo49 and the Everything Vincy Expo.

These two events highlighted hundreds of local producers, manufacturers and service providers to thousands of Vincentian consumers.

  1. I can’t believe these announcements and the naivety they demonstrate among people who might even believe them.

When Arnos Vale was receiving tens of thousands of passengers every month, there were three tiny shops and one small bar-restaurant servicing these many travellers.

Now we are told there would an explosion of business interest and customer visits at the closest facility even though so many businesses in Kingstown are barely hanging on or closing down one after the other.

  2. I sincerely hope that there will be a Circular Wading Pool and Fountains so that people can have some escape from the Sun . Obviously around would be benches . Nearby should be Vendors selling Ice Cream
and Snow balls . Also there needs to be Trees and Gardens , with
Lawns & Flowers . The above in my opinion must at the center of this
Plaza , to avoid the area becoming a Concrete Jungle
