Cattle Production Programme For SVG

Dairy farm, Prince Edward Island

St. Vincent and the Grenadines is expected to benefit from the donation of fifteen (15) cattle embryos from Eastside Farms Inc., Prince Edward Island, Canada.

The embryos are expected to enhance the genetic stock of the local cattle population.  The donation came as a result of a relationship developed with the owners of Eastside Farms Inc. during a visit to Prince Edward Island earlier this year by the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Saboto Caesar.

Meanwhile, cattle farmers were expected to benefit from another purchase and shipment of 100 heads of cattle to Grenada on Saturday 11th November 2017.

These developments form part of one of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Transformation, Forestry and Fisheries strategic priorities, “to commercialize the livestock sector.”

  1. This is so backward. The people who make decisions here always seem to be 50 years behind time. The world is waking up and reducing the need for dairy. Plant based milks such as hemp, oat, almond, soya are being used all over the world and there is a huge export market for plant based products. St.Vincent, with our very fertile soil has the possibility to capitalise on these markets. Instead, they decide to bring in cows from other lands to rape them for milk (Yes, cows have to be pregnant to produce milk), kill the baby calves for meat (if male) or force the girl calves into slavery like their mothers. WAKE UP PEOPLE,STOP LIVE IN THE PAST #GOVEGAN #ITALISVITAL
