Senior Marketing Officer at the Bank Of SVG Omari France, speaking at the official launch of the National Theatre Arts Festival 2017, said that the bank recognises the importance of supporting social activities like the Theatre Arts Festival.
He said through the bank’s partnership with the Ministry of Culture and various groups; their aim is to aid in the development of each group and by extension the festival.
France said the National theatre arts festival provides an outlet for creative cultural expression while functioning as a platform on which each group can learn from each other and grow in a manner which will allow them to function individually.
“ It is the mandate of the Ministry Of Culture to have groups “Graduate” from the festival as was the case with groups like Agape Methodist”.
France said such is being done to facilitate the development of new groups who wish to participate in the festival.
“ It is with this in mind that we must ensure relationships form during the festival are maintained and nurtured beyond any groups departure from the festival”.
France says this is necessary since development only happens when knowledge is retained and passed on to those who follow.
He encouraged the Ministry of Culture to ensure their continued assistance to various groups, in developing their skills thus ensuring the continuity of the festival
“ To the groups, grasp this opportunity, learn from it and each other”, France told group members present.
