Bishop’s College Kingstown Holds Annual Harvest Celebrations

The Principal staff and students of Bishop’s College Kingstown Secondary School held their annual Harvest celebrations today under the theme “For God loveth a cheerful giver” in which they give thanks to God for the many blessings he has bestowed on them as an institution.

The celebrations began with a prayer by The Very Rev’d O. Samuel Nichols the chairman of the Board of Governors of the school and saw presentations of:
Fruits and vegetables by the students of form 1

Ground Provision by the students of form 2

Cakes and sweets by the 3rd formers

Local Juices by the 4th formers and

Food by the students of form 5 and water by the members of staff at the school.

The gifts presented were blessed by the Rt. Rev’d C. Leopold Friday, Bishop of the Windward Islands.

In attendance were parents, past students, past principal and members of the Board of Governors of the school.

This year the school made donation of food items to members of the Catholic and Anglican soup kitchen, School for children with special needs and other institutions including the Caring Hands Comfort Home and the Garden of Eden Senior Citizen Home.
The students and some teachers then took to the streets of Kingstown where they presented a number of persons with food items.

The Principal, Mrs Cecelia Akers-King and her staff thanks the general public for their continued support and expresses how pleased she is with the success of the harvest this year.
