AIA has brought an end to dangerous tailwind takeoff

No more cancellations due to high winds, that is how the director of airports Corsel Roberston brought an end to the numerous debates over the landing and take off at AIA.

The director said that unlike the interruptions due to high winds at E.T Joshua, the winds at Argyle has brought about additional lift needed by the aircraft.

She said the facility has brought an end to the dangerous tailwind that has haunted pilots for years at E.T Joshua and has given pilots the advantage to take off in either direction.

  1. Tailwinds are gone, now sidewinds are the problem, so we have to be careful with small planes much of the year. I would rather have a tailwind than a side wind.
