SITUATION REPORT (SITREP) TWO (2) – TROUGH SYSTEM – 28TH -29TH NOVEMBER, 2016

The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines authorized:
• The closing of all schools on Wednesday 30th November,
2016, at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday 29th November, 2016.
• The closing of all schools on Tuesday 29th November, 2016 at
8:00 p.m. on Monday 28th, November, 2016.
3.0 The Impact
Preliminary reports on the impacts of the Trough System are as follows:
3.1 Persons Affected:
Provided with Shelter: 177
Number Destroyed: 15
Number Damaged: 20
Number flooded: 6
• Fifteen (15) reported landslides
• Eight(8) reported damaged bridges
• Eight (8) reported damaged roads
The Roads Bridges and General Services Authority are conducting assessment and clean-up operations.
The Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) reported that the Jennings System is down and affected water supply in the following areas:
Byera, Mannings Village, Colonaire, Park Hill, South Rivers, Mt. Grenan, Diamonds Village, New Grounds, Lowmans Wd, Hadley’s Village, North Union, South Union, Cedars, Biabou, Jeffrey, Spring, Peruvian Vale, Argyle, Mt. Pleasant, Rawacou, Stubbs, Calder, Carapan and Diamond.
The following areas were affected by the Perseverance System:
Mt. Young, Georgetown, Dickson, O’Briens Valley, Spring, Mt. Bentick, Langley Park, Chapmans Village, Rabacca, Orange Hill, Field 18 and Tourama.
Water supply is also affected in the North Leeward area from Coulls Hill to Richmond.
The St. Vincent Electricity Services reported that the electricity supply was restored in the following areas:
Hope, Perseverance, Congo Valley and other areas of Georgetown and from Richmond to Cumberland.
The following areas are without electricity due to the inclement weather:
Richmond Vale Academy, and areas on the north such as Overland, Magum, London, Sandy Bay, Point, Owia and Fancy.
The National Emergency Operations Centre remains partially activated today and the housing and infrastructure damage assessment is expected to commence today.
