Cornel Thorpe a 34-year-old labourer from Diamonds Village has been arrested by Law Enforcement Officers for causing the death of 54-year-old James Gould originally from Vermont but and who was residing at Diamonds Village between August 5th and 6th, 2018.
Reports are that Gould’s body was discovered in the yard of a Diamonds Village resident on the morning of the 6th of August with multiple cutlass wounds about his body.
Thorpe, as a result, was arrested and was escorted on Wednesday, August 8th, 2018 to the Serious Offence Court facing the indictable charge before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne to which he was not allowed to enter a plea.
The matter has been adjourned to November 7th, 2018 when the Preliminary is expected to commence.
Thorpe is being represented by Lawyer Ronald Marks.
Some 15 witnesses is expected to mount the stand for the Prosecutor. Gould’s death brings the homicide number to 18 so far for this year in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
