20-year-old Danroy Caesar also known as Delroy Charles originally from North Union residing at Lowmans Hill Leeward who was arrested and charged on November 30th, 2018 for assaulting his common-law wife 26 years old Dara Bacchus of the same address and was remanded into custody to await sentencing was on Tuesday December 11th, 2018 sentenced to a three year jail term by Senior Magistrate Rickie Burnett.

The Court heard that both Bacchus and Caesar have shared a common-law relationship for the past three years and have produced three children and that on the date in question he accompanied here to the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture in search of work.

Bacchus was summoned to the Permanent Secretary Office to have an interview.  Bacchus and Caesar/Charles are said to have left the office subsequently and began walking to Kingstown Park when Bacchus went to an area to urinate during which time Caesar/Charles proceeded to examine Bacchus’ underwear and accused her of having sex with the Permanent Secretary and proceeded to beat her about her body.

Caesar/Charles then escorted Bacchus to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital for treatment to her forehead and instructed her to tell the nurse that she had a fight with a girl.

Bacchus subsequently told the nurse the truth and as a result the police was summoned leading to Caesar/Charles’ arrest.
