TRINIDAD: These Venezuelans among four killed by cops

(TRINIDAD EXPRESS) – Four men, including two Venezuelan nationals, were killed following a police-involved shooting incident early this morning.

This is the official police version of events:

At around 3.15 am, a team of officers from the Inter-Agency Task Force, went to the home of a suspect at Tořrington Drive, Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas, to execute a search warrant for arms and ammunition.

Upon entering the house, the officers were greeted with gunfire. The officers returned fire, hitting all four male occupants in the house.

The men were taken to Chaguanas Health Facility where they succumbed to their injuries. Two pistols and a quantity of ammunition were subsequently recovered.

The men have since been identified as Richard Wilson of Chaguanas, Demell Howell of Maloney, Ronniel Miguel Lara and one man only identified, as Freddie, both of Venezuela.
