TRINIDAD: Pensioner tied up, killed for his car

TRINIDAD EXPRESS) – POLICE are investigating a homicide in Princes Town where a man was tied and killed in his home.

The victim was identified as former Ministry of Works and Transport supervisor Azard Ali, 60, who lived at Mandingo Road.

Ali’s recently purchased vehicle, a red coloured Nissan Sylphy, was missing. On Monday morning his neighbours got a foul scent and contacted Ali’s brother.

The brother went to the house and found the front door open.

He entered the house and saw his brother’s hands and feet tied, the body already in a state of decomposition.

Police were told that Ali, who lived alone, was last seen by neighbours on Friday. Officers of Homicide Region III and Princes Town CID have responded.
