TRINIDAD: Mom stumbles, baby flung from porch

TRINIDAD EXPRESS – A two-month-old baby boy suffered head injuries and broken limbs when he fell over the front porch of his family’s Point Fortin home on New Year’s Day.

Police confirmed that the infant tumbled 10 feet down onto a concrete floor at a house along Warden Road. He suffered a broken arm and leg.

Reports stated that the 21-year-old mother was carrying her firstborn in her arms when she stumbled. The baby flew out of her arms and over the bannister.

The infant was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he remains in serious condition.

The mother was interviewed by officers at the Point Fortin police station and allowed to return to her baby’s bedside.
