(TRINIDAD EXPRESS) – A DECOMPOSING body believed to be that of a Chaguanas woman who went missing a week ago was found by a group of hunters in the Santa Cruz on Saturday.
While investigators said they were unable to confirm whether the body was indeed that of 19-year-old Amy Leslie James, a mother of two, they said there was a strong possibility it was since the body bore a tattoo fitting the description of one given to them by her concerned relatives last week.
She was last seen by relatives last Sunday when she left her home sometime between 9 and 10 p.m, leaving her two sons, ages four and one-year-old unattended. It was not known where she had intended on going.
When she did not return home the following day, her relatives made a police report and also made a number of postings on social media calling for anyone with information on her location to contact police.
Officers said it was found in a crouched position and there was a plastic bag over the head. Several pieces of female clothing was also found nearby.
On the upper left thigh, there was a tattoo of a heart, fitting the description of one relatives said James also had on that part of her body.
