Magnitude 3.0 earthquake hits Jamaica

An earthquake was felt in sections of Kingston and St Andrew and St Catherine on Friday night.

According to the Earthquake Unit at the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI), the magnitude 3.0 quake was felt about 8:46 pm.

The epicentre was located approximately 10 kilometres west of Buff Bay, Portland, and it had a focal depth of 17 km, the unit stated.
