‘Jaws of life’ used to remove Tiger Woods from car crash

Tiger Woods was injured in a car accident in Southern California on Tuesday that required emergency responders to use a “jaws of life” tool to remove him from the vehicle, according to authorities.

The golf superstar suffered “multiple” leg injuries, his agent told Golf Digest.

“He is currently in surgery,” Mark Steinberg said Tuesday afternoon, “and we thank you for your privacy and support.”

The golf superstar was the lone occupant in what the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department described as a single-vehicle roll-over in the Rolling Hills Estates and Ranchos Palos Verdes area.

The sheriff’s department said Woods was taken via ambulance to a nearby hospital following the crash, which authorities responded to at about 7:12 a.m. local time.

“The vehicle sustained major damage,” the sheriff’s department said.

Woods, the winner of 15 major championships in his prolific PGA career, golfed with retired NBA star Dwyane Wade on Monday, according to photos shared Tuesday by the former Miami Heat guard.
