The Embassy of the United Mexican States to the Eastern Caribbean States extends congratulations to the Government and the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on the occasion of its 41st Anniversary of Independence.

In light of this celebration, the Embassy reiterates the willingness of the Government of Mexico to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1990, Mexico and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have recorded an excellent level of political relations, which are reflected in our joining together in international forums that address issues concerning both countries and the Eastern Caribbean region in general.

Likewise, both countries have maintained strong bonds of friendship and solidarity, which has been evidenced over the years through close cooperation in a variety of areas. Special mention deserves the construction of the bridge “Friendship Mexico-Saint Vincent and the Grenadines”, the longest bridge in the country, financed by Mexico in 2018 through the Infrastructure Fund for Mesoamerican and Caribbean Countries with a grant of US$5 million. The major infrastructural components included the design and reconstruction of the main Cumberland Bridge and 3 small bridges and the repair or road and culverts upstream of the main bridge, as well as river embankment protection, which improves the vehicular connection across the island.

More recently, our countries have joined efforts through the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) towards different subjects, like the exchange of experiences on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mexico, therefore, reiterates its continued commitment to join efforts with the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines towards the strengthening of these bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of both nations and the region.

The Government of Mexico conveys best wishes for the wellbeing and continued success of the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and for the continued progress and prosperity of the country.
