Alphonso Dennie Laid To Rest – "He Now Belongs To The Ages"

An Official funeral was held today for the late Alphonso Dennie, former Member of the House of Assembly (1972-1979) on Monday 12th October 2020.

Offical viewing took place at the House of Assembly Chamber, Court House, on Monday 12th October 2020 from 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

As was a  former St. Vincent and the Grenadines Education Minister, who, in 1972, successfully contested the North Leeward constituency for the then People’s Political Party (PPP), led by late Chief Minister Ebenezer Theodore Joshua, becoming a Member of the House of Assembly, served as principals at several elementary schools in the country and taught secondary schools in Barbados.

The funeral service which took place at the Methodist Church, Kingstown saw tributes from Michael Findlay and former PM Sir James Mitchell among others.

Alphonso Dennie will forever be remembered, “He now belongs to the ages”.
