Man stabbed to death after fight at Bronx birthday party

(NY DAILY NEWS) – A Brooklyn man was stabbed to death at a friend’s birthday party in the Bronx after he got into an argument with the parents of a young woman there, police sources said Thursday

Kevin Williams, 42, was knifed in the face and stomach in the lobby of a building on Jefferson Place and Clinton Ave. in Morrisania early July 19. He died three days later at Lincoln Hospital.

Police reported the incident on Thursday — and people who live near where Williams died remembered the commotion and the party.

Nina Lassiter, 65, said she remembered a crowd gathering between two buildings on the block, and she thought they were celebrating someone’s birthday.

The next morning, she found a part of the street cordoned off by police.

“I said, ‘Why is that roped off?’ And they told me someone got murdered,” she recounted. “I don’t really know about the guy … I see him maybe once or twice but I don’t know him.”

“People know nothing about people on this block.” Lassiter added. “This block here is kinda rough at night…. After a certain hour we (stay) in our house.”

Police identified Williams as a Brooklyn resident. But a resident of the Bronx neighborhood where he was killed said he moved in about 18 months ago.

“I never had an interaction with him. I’d just see him park his car and that’s about it,” the neighbor said.

Police are still looking for Williams’ killer.
