American Democrats in SVG, having recently founded the Formation Committee for the Caribbean-wide group of the Democrats Abroad organization, celebrated the BIDEN/HARRIS 2020 ticket even more during.
Tuesday night’s Democratic National Convention. During the Roll Call, it was “an immigrant from Saint Vincent and The Grenadines” who represented the entire state of New York.
To the millions of Americans watching, the COVID-19 fighting registered nurse and mother spoke eloquently and then excitedly casted the state’s delegates votes. “Joe Biden’s plans will help us take care of your loved ones as well as our own,” she assured.
Democrats Abroad Caribbean Islands, recently launched by expats from Bequia, now boasts members from SVG and 24 other island nations, including Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, St. Lucia, the Cayman Islands, Dominica, St. Kitts & Nevis, Jamaica, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Antigua, the BVI’s, Bermuda, and the Bahamas.
The Democrats Abroad organization has 44 chapters around the globe. It holds state-equivalent status within the Democratic National Committee and its own delegates vote in US elections.
The new group is seeking more members and forming leadership roles from all the islands. They’re appealing to every U.S. citizen residing in the region, whether here temporarily or permanently, including dual-citizens, to register and request a November ballot through their non-partisan platform VotefromAbroad.org and urges all citizens to vote and vote early.
