In SVG, the staff at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital recently participated in refresher training in the use of an isolation transportation trolley and mobile isolation system.
This as the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment says the nation continues to strengthen its capacities, particularly in the area of preparedness, control and response.
The Ministry says both systems are equipped with an air filter that cleans the air before it is released into the atmosphere.
Additionally, the tent comes with mobile AC units, ozone generators (to create negative air pressure so it can be cleaned before being expelled into the atmosphere), chairs, tables, tabletop autoclaves, garbage cans and a quantity of personal protection equipment (PPE’s).
Both sets of equipment were procured through a partnership with the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) on a Japanese project.
The training for the hospital staff took place on the grounds of NEMO. Loop TT
