Tropical Wave To Continue Affecting SVG For The Next 12-18 Hrs

Moisture and instability associated with a tropical wave will continue to produce cloudiness, pockets of moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorm activity over the islands during the next 12-18 hours.

Residents near rivers and streams, and in areas prone to flash-flooding should remain alert.

Thereafter, a gradual improvement in the weather conditions is anticipated as the High-pressure system rebuilds behind the westward-moving wave.

Meanwhile, an approaching tropical wave located over the Central Atlantic has a medium to high chance of development over the next few days. The Meteorological Services will continue to monitor the progress of this system as it tracks northwestward across the Atlantic.

Easterly winds ranging between 15 km/h to 35km/h are forecast during the next 72 hours.

Slight to moderate easterly sea swells seas are expected with swells peaking near 2.0 meters (7.0 feet).

No significant haze intrusion is expected during this forecast period.
