(TRINIDAD EXPRESS) – A MAXI-TAXI driver charged with beating his wife with a broom stick and using it to sexually assault her, appeared before the Princes Town court.
The 37-year-old faced magistrate Indira Misir-Gosine charged with grievous sexual assault and assault by beating.
The man’s father also faced the charge of assaulting the woman by threatening to kill her.
The alleged incidents happened last Saturday during an altercation at the Princes Town home shared by the three.
Misir-Gosine placed the maxi-taxi driver on $75,000 bail. His father was granted $5,000 bail.
The matter was adjourned to October 8.
