(TRINIDAD EXPRESS) – Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar has questioned why the sedition law was not used against Government Minister Fitzgerald Hinds who she said called for United National Congress (UNC) supporters to be killed.

Speaking at the UNC Monday Night Forum at the Preysal High School yesterday, Persad-Bissessar noted that Public Services Association (PSA) president Watson Duke was recently charged with sedition in relation to comments he made in November last year where he urged workers of TSTT, TTEC and WASA to be “prepared to die”.
Persad-Bissessar pointed to what Duke said: “This is your belief, folks, this is your family and I am sending the message clear, let Rowley them know that the day they come for us in WASA, we are prepared to die and the morgue would be picking up people.”
