(By Ernesto Cooke) – Sir Vincent Beache has experienced in politics, the Agony and the Ecstasy of it. This is according to Acting Prime Minister Sir Louis Starker.
Sir Beache a veteran politician died at his home on Monday 5th August 2019.
“I say the agony because it was a bitter experience for him to have lost the North Central Windward seat, and of course having to lead the Labour party with the biggest motorcade in the history of St Vincent in 1989, and yet suffered a great loss when the NDP took all seats”.
Sir Louis said he was with Beache he received the results of the 1998 elections.
“We had 55 percent of the votes and he would have been Prime Minister, but unfortunately because of the first-past-the-post system he was denied that position and we had to sit in the opposition and work together until we form government in 2001”.
Sir Louis said it is not very often that a man of such character comes along, listen to Sir Louis pay tribute below.
