The New Democratic Party Women’s Arm concluded its Summer Program with an exhibition of arts and craft from the participants on Friday 17 August 2018.
The Women’s Arm Summer Program which ran from 13 – 17 August catered to children from 5 – 12 years and exposed the participants to Personal Hygiene, Social Interaction through sports, Arts and Crafts and Reading.
In his comments to the participants at the closing ceremony, Dr The Hon. Godwin Friday spoke to the participants about the importance of reading as a pathway to future development and making positive life choices such as staying in school and working towards their dreams.
He told them that todays dreams were tomorrow’s reality and that all the innovations to which we take for granted today such as the cell phone and computer games were just dreams before they became a reality.
All the participants received Certificates of Participation. (Photos attached of the closing and exhibition).
On Monday 20 August the NDP continues its development thrust through with the opening of the Youth Development Program which caters for participants from 13 – 18 years.
The program will expose participants to such areas as Leadership, Teamwork, Mental Health, Chronic and Non-commutable Diseases, Human Sexuality, Rape and Indecent Assault, Social media – Opportunities and Risk, Conflict Resolution, Critical Thinking Skills and Career and Work Choices – Preparing for the job market among others.
