Kenvert Pierre a 40-year-old resident of Campden Park has been denied the opportunity to participate in Vincy Carnival 2018.

Pierre’s denial came on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018 by Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne after he was given a 12 months jail term on two charges of possession of 13,909gms of marijuana with intent to supply and for the purpose of drug trafficking on May 16th, 2018.

Pierre along with Khalil Robin a 20 years old male from Clare Valley was intercepted with the drugs on the date in question while Coast Guard Personnel were on routine sea patrol on the sea waters at Kirtons, Barrouallie.

Both Pierre and Robin were seen travelling in a speedboat and having recognized the presence of the Coast Guard, Pierre is said to have begun throwing the marijuana overboard.  The drugs were recovered buy the police which led to both defendants arrest.

When both defendants appeared at the Serious Offences Court Pierre entered a guilty plea while Robin maintained his innocence and the charges were withdrawn from him by Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche.
