Chairs, Bed Sheets, Pillows Stolen From Medical Complex In Georgetown

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves says it has come to his attention from doctors and nurses that items are being stolen from the Non- Commissioned Medical Diagnostic Centre in Georgetown.

He says chairs for persons in the accident and emergency department have gone missing and yesterday bed sheets and pillows went missing.

The case of the missing chairs has been reported to the police by the workers at the institution.

Gonsalves said on Monday 14th May, 2018, he requested the intervention of a senior officer from the major crimes unit to get involved in the investigation.

He said there are watchmen in the night, however, only health workers are stationed at the facility in the day.

Gonsalves said the facility is being prepared to open, and he wanted to inform the public what certain nationals are doing.
“I want the people in the community to keep their eyes and ears open to what’s going on”.

Gonsalves said he is so disappointed, and it is self-evident why he and the public would be disappointed.

The matter he said is now under immediate investigation and the police will do what their investigation leads them to carry out, Gonsalves said.
