(TRINIDAD EXPRESS) – A 14-year-old primary schoolboy who allegedly was showing a round of ammunition and a magazine to his classmates at a San Fernando school was detained on the compound on Thursday.
The teenager, a fifth standard pupil, was detained by the security guard and handed over to police officers.
The suspect, of San Fernando, remained in police custody on Friday morning. Around 1.30 p.m. the security guard observed the teenager acting suspiciously and searched him.
The boy allegedly was found with a magazine with one round of .22 ammunition. He was detained and taken to the Principal’s office, then handed over to officers of the San Fernando CID.
Police have taken statements from the security guard and school officials about the incident. The suspect is expected to be charged with possession of ammunition, and appear in court.
