Bequia Fisherfolk Participate In HACCP Training

Fisherfolk from the Grenadine island of Bequia who participated in the two-day HACCP training on Wednesday, March 14 (National Heroes Day) received their ice coolers.

The objective of this training will help to reduce spoilage and increase the value of product brought to market, thus increasing the value extracted per unit of catch.

Fisherfolk will now be able to increase their economic benefits through efficiency gains, without increasing resource extraction.

This initiative was made possible with funding from USAID through the Caribbean Marine Biodiversity Program.
