The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, Police Headquarters Office, newly formed Social Club, hosted its’ first Cultural Wear event on Tuesday March 13th, 2018.
The event was orchestrated by the social clubs’ committee, and it incorporated police and clerical staff members attached to the headquarters office, traffic and CID, as they participated in the National Hero’s Day celebrations, commemorating the enriched culture of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The participants made and wore cultural outfits as part of the national Hero’s Day celebrations.
Awards were given for the best cultural wear and they were as follows: the Commissioners award for first place went to Mrs Brenda Oliver, senior clerk at the Accounts Division, Police Headquarters; the Deputy Commissioner’s award for second place, went to Ms Sharlene Williams, the Commissioners secretary; and the RSVGPF Social Club award for third place went to Mrs. Yvette Gittens, clerk/typist at the Traffic Branch.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Collin John, would like to thank all the participants and all the persons who donated towards this event making it possible. Thanks are also extended to the judges of the event, Ms Vinca Lewis, Ms Camille Soleyn and Sgt. Michelle Francis.
