Venezuelan women jailed for entering TT to buy food

(TRINIDAD NEWSDAY) – Three Venezuelan women who appeared before a San Fernando magistrate this morning charged with illegally entering the country have each been sent to jail for one year.

The women told the court they had come to Trinidad to buy food for their families.

The magistrate was not impressed and sent them to jail.
