Bronx: Pregnant woman robbed of cell phone during brutal kick attack

(NY DAILY NEWS) – Cops are on the hunt for two women that ambushed and pummeled a pregnant 19-year-old woman with kicks — just to steal her cell phone at a Bronx apartment building.

The assailants battered the 6-month pregnant woman with at least nine kicks last week at the bottom of a stairwell along St. Ann’s Ave. near E. 159th St. in Woodstock, police said Wednesday morning.

The suspects booted the woman in the chest and head, barely avoiding her belly during the Feb. 1 theft, cops said.

One of the women, known to the victim as “Tiffany,” capped off the brutish assault caught on surveillance footage by slamming the heavy door on the downed mother-to-be.

She bent over to tug at something under the door before bolting briefly with her pal. The two returned moments later to land a few more kicks, police said.

At some point during the attack, cops said the heartless duo stole the victim’s Motorola cell phone.

The victim was rushed to Lincoln Hospital with a bruised and swollen face, and was later released. Her unborn child is expected to be OK, according to police.

She told cops she knew Tiffany from the neighbourhood. She is believed to be in her 30s, while the other woman, shown kicking the victim while sporting a pink hat, is in her 20s to 30s.
